Hailing from the sunny Hawke’s Bay the Phil Edwards Band has a distinctive summer sound, which makes them the perfect accompaniment to a cold beer on a warm evening. The band’s catchy sing-along melodies appeal to a wide audience and their soulful songs range from warm acoustic ballads reminiscent of Jack Johnson through to blues numbers with a John Mayer or Ben Harper feel.
The band have just released their debut album “Slow Borders” and are currently touring New Zealand. The guys worked with legendary engineer/producer Dave O’Donnell who mixed the album in New York. Dave has worked with artists such as John Mayer, Eric Clapton, James Taylor to name a few. Well-known New Zealand music video producer Ivan Slavov along with Greg Buckley worked with the band to produce a very fitting video for their debut single “Crash” shot in Melbourne, Australia
